Huchzermeyer, DK (PhD)
David Huchzermeyer was born in Germany in 1958. After graduating from the University of Pretoria with a BSc in 1978 and a BVSc in 1983 he furthered his interest in fish at the University of Stirling in Scotland where he graduated with an MSc in Aquatic Veterinary Studies in 1985. He completed his PhD at the University of Pretoria in 2013. He has been in mixed private veterinary practice in Lydenburg, South Africa, since 1986. In 2012 he was appointed honorary Research Associate in the Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science at Rhodes University, Grahamstown and has been co-presenter of training courses on aquatic animal diseases for veterinarians throughout Africa on behalf of the World Animal Health Organization (OIE).

Pansteatitis in African sharptooth catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Burchell), in the Kruger National Park, South Africa
