Stephen Tembo was born on 10th March 1974. He enrolled at the University of Zambia, Zambia to study Veterinary Medicine from where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM).

He was employed as a public veterinarian in 2005 and is still working district veterinary officer in Mungwi district, Northern Province, Zambia.

In 2010 he enrolled at the University of Pretoria, South Africa where he graduated in April 2013 with an MSc in Veterinary Tropical diseases with distinction.

Dissertation title:

Occurence of tick-borne haemoparasites in cattle in the Mungwi district, Northern Province, Zambia.
