Boitumelo Modise was born on the 27th of February, 1974. In 2000, she obtained a BSc degree in Biological Sciences majoring in Microbiology with a second class second division (2ii) from the University of Botswana. On completion she took up an appointment as a Microbiologist with Botswana National Veterinary Laboratory. In June 2010, she enrolled at the University of Pretoria to pursue MSc in Veterinary Science in the Department of Veterinary Tropical Diseases (DVTD), Faculty of Veterinary Science. She graduated in April 2013.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex specific antigens for use in serodiagnosis of bovine tuberculosis.
